Therapy can help you when you are going through tough times and could use some support, guidance, or maybe another perspective to help you navigate through difficulties. Sometimes people find themselves overreacting to current situations and realize they need to work through some things from the past that are still bothering them. They find that this dramatically improves their current relationships at home and at work.

In my therapy practice, I use proven methods to help you reduce the symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression that you may be experiencing. I’ll encourage you to address dysfunctional thoughts, habits, and painful underlying feelings—areas where you may feel stuck– so that the resolution you achieve produces lasting beneficial changes. I’ll also give you tools that you can apply to problems that come up in the future.

With couples work, I help the couple improve communication and increase trust in one another. We identify destructive patterns that have set in, bring to awareness and communicate underlying feelings driving the conflict or impasse, and improve overall communication and trust in the relationship. The goal is to increase a sense of connection, and learn ways to stay connected while working through the inevitable hills and valleys that will come up in the future.

My style is interactive, supportive, challenging, and focused on developing strengths and growing into more authentic living through incorporating various therapeutic modalities. I integrate cognitive therapy techniques, imagery processing, somatic awareness, and emotional coaching in my sessions. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a powerful method for trauma resolution, and may be helpful to you. With couples, I incorporate Gottman Institute work and Emotion-Focused Therapy for Couples.

Without distressing symptoms interfering, clients have more energy to devote to healthy relationships, creativity, and lifelong goals.
